From the mid 1800s, this truly unique 14k gold mourning brooch pin has an oval center of hair surrounded by prong set natural pearls. Mourning jewelry were worn to commemorate the loss of a loved one, and commonly contained a lock of hair making this truly a great example of jewelry history.
