Here are some images from a trip I took a little while back to the south in Decatur, Alabama.
One of the amazing things about smaller cities/towns in the U.S. is you get to experience Middle America from the past and the present.
An old fashioned hamburger joint. The best burgers in town!
Amongst all the Victorian and Mid-Century houses was this unbelievable gem of a house. It was a pure example of Bauhaus art which originally was born in Germany in the mid 1920′s. This house stood out like a sore thumb. Apparently it had been owned by an older queen who had passed away and now it’s being remodeled. I think most people in the town were still shocked by the house and not finding it as desirable as I find it.
The original fireplace.
Stainless steel circular staircase in the house.
