On Saturday I was walking Habibi on Cadman Plaza here in Brooklyn — our Saturday morning tradition. There was a massive “Free Tibet” protest going on. It was an amazing way to wake up the early morning spirit.  All those colors, flags and banner.  Not to mention hearing a rousing political message at 8am.

I did feel, when looking at the people protesting, how lucky they were to be out of Tibet and away from  occupation. The chances that Tibet will be free are slim to none. China, an ever growing global power, has a fierce grip on the territory. Thinking about all of this gave me a glimpse of my future:
