I spent the day hanging out at the annual Armory Art Show. It’s an amazing example of the New York art scene.
As it grows each year you can feel the viewers’ excitement who’ve come to see the best of the art world. It also is great for people watching.
Here are some photos of some of my favorite pieces:
By Elizabeth Turk, 2012. Marble carved with stainless steel base.
This was impeccably carved and so delicate. It is an amazing sculptural feat.

By Jeenhe Jeon, titled “Welcome”, digital art.
I love the controversial political currency here. The burning trees in the background a sign of the damage done to the world.

By Nick Cave, 2012.
I was drawn to its use of mixed media but still having an antique feel and somewhat childlike.

By Kiki Smith.
She’s an amazing artist, from drawings to sculpture. This is a beautiful example of her newest work.

By Leandro Erlich, “La Vitrina Cloud Collection, 2011″, wood, glass and acrylic.
I overheard a man asking if they had actually captured a cloud. I know it sounds juvenile, but the piece had such movement! It was one of the most exciting pieces at the show. Here’s a side view of it:

Here are two other pieces that I liked, but I forgot to get the artist’s information:
