Theodor Fahrner is one of the leaders of jewelry in the Wiener Werkstatte movement in Vienna during the early 1900′s. To this day he is one of my biggest inspirations for juxtaposed color combinations. His delicate but strong color sensibility stood unrivaled for a long time.

Relatively unknown in today’s times Theodor Fahrner is extremely collectible by antique dealers for his graphic deco motifs fused with unexpected colors.

For the last 20 years I have seen postcards up at diners, barbers, laundromats, etc all over lower Manhattan to take guitar lessons with Dan Smith.

I’ve always wondered who this guy really is and what kind of a pervert is he? How weird is he?

This might only interest people who have lived in lower Manhattan, but I did notice that Dan Smith advertising has gotten increasingly better and less creepy. Gone are the days of looking like he would slip you a roofy. A much more professional business image has finally arisen.

We decided to call him to get some prices and info, he seems legit… Just in case you want to get past your curiosity and take a “lesson”.

What??!!

Walking on Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, there was a Japanese guy in a suit with an extra large rabbit that had flippers on its feet. It was obvious he wanted the attention, which he got in spades.

I asked him, “What kind of rabbit is that?”  He said, “It’s a Sea Rabbit.”  I was like, “WHAT?!!”

What the hell is a Sea Rabbit?! And is it alive? He guaranteed it was alive but, I noticed that the eyes never blinked… Tell tale sign of a fake Sea Rabbit if you ask me (not to mention a crazy guy on the beach)!

He did tell me that it is in fact a real species and you can google Sea Rabbit to check it out. I immediately did and the only thing that came up was his Sea Rabbit on the Beach in Coney Island….. CRAZY, but cute.
